No being exists that is devoid of the 'I am'. However it may happen the story of all begins with the arrival of the knowledge 'I am'. Circumstantially you maybe conditioned in different ways, which, along with the combination of elements and qualities, is expressed accordingly.

This expression could be good or bad, it could lead to happiness or misery, either way or whatever be the outcome, the starting point is always the 'I am'.

🌻 30. శ్రీ కృష్ణుడు నోరు తెరిచాడు, దాని నుండి అగ్ని వచ్చింది 🌻

మనం విషయాల యొక్క విశ్వ జనీయతను అర్థం చేసుకున్నప్పుడు, ఇంద్రియాలు ఇప్పుడు మన వ్యక్తిగత సందర్భాలలో ఉన్నట్లు కేవలం ప్రభావం చెందేవిగా కాకుండా ఒక విషయానికి నాంది, కారణాలుగా మారతాయి. దీనిని అర్థం చేసుకోవడం కష్టం. కానీ, ఒకసారి దానిని గ్రహించిన తర్వాత, అన్ని భయాలు ఒక క్షణంలో మాయమవుతాయి, ఎందుకంటే భయం వస్తువులపై ఆధారపడటం వలన వస్తుంది. స్వాతంత్ర్యం అనేది వ్యక్తిగత చైతన్యాన్ని విశ్వ చైతన్యంగా మార్చిన తక్షణం వస్తుంది. అది ఉపనిషత్తు చెప్పిన నిజమైన ధ్యానం.

ఈ అధ్యాయం యొక్క ముఖ్య అంశం అయిన ఈ హిరణ్యగర్భంపై ధ్యానం, ఇంద్రియాల శుద్ధీకరణకు, ప్రభావితం చెందడం నుంచి ప్రభావం చూపించేవిగా వాటిలో వచ్చే మార్పుకు కారణం అవుతుంది. ఇది ప్రభావాన్ని పూర్తిగా కారణంగా మారుస్తుంది, తద్వారా వాక్కు అగ్నిగా మారుతుంది, ప్రభావం అవుతుంది. వాస్తవికత యొక్క ఉనికిలో అగ్ని దాని సరైన స్థానాన్ని కనుగొంటుంది. కౌరవుల ఆస్థానంలో శ్రీ కృష్ణుడు తన విశ్వరూపాన్ని చూపించినపుడు, నోరు తెరవగా, అతని నోటి నుండి అగ్ని వచ్చినట్లు చెబుతారు. మరియు, ఉపనిషత్తులో కూడా, ఈ వాస్తవానికి సంబంధించిన సూచనలు మనకు కనిపిస్తాయి.

🌻 30. Sri Krishna Opened His Mouth, and Fire Came Out of It 🌻

When we contemplate the Universal Subjectivity of things, the sense organs become causes rather than effects, not as they are now in our individual cases. What this contemplation means is a hard thing to grasp. But, once it is grasped, all fear vanishes in a moment, because fear is due to dependence on things, and independence is assumed the moment this art of transmuting individual consciousness to the Universal Reality is gained. That is real meditation, in the light of the Upanishad.

And this contemplation, this meditation on Hiranyagarbha, which is actually the subject of this chapter and which is the reason behind the purification of the senses and their overcoming death, completely converts the effect into the cause, so that speech becomes Fire, the effect becomes the cause, and Fire finds its proper place in the Being of Reality. When Sri Krishna opened up His Cosmic Form in the court of the Kauravas, it is said that the mouth opened, and Fire came out of His mouth. And, in the Upanishad also, we find references to this fact.

🌻 173. Understand this 'I am' business and stand apart from it, transcend it. Just be. 🌻

The Guru is indeed very generous: see how stubbornly he persists with you. He knows your potential and also knows that at least theoretically you understand his teaching.

By repeatedly hammering away at the teaching he wants you to get stabilized in the 'I am', for only then do you stand a chance to transcend it. He is constantly urging you or trying to push you into the 'Turiya' or fourth state.

This he does tirelessly and relentlessly with anyone who comes to him and in whom he senses a genuine seeker. So, after expounding everything, he says 'now that you have understood everything, just be'.

దేవుని చట్టం మరియు మనిషి యొక్క చట్టం అని రెండు చట్టాలు లేవు. విశ్వ నియమం మరియు వ్యక్తిగత నియమాలు అని రెండు వేరు వేరు నియమాలు లేవు. అక్కడ అలాంటిదేమీ లేదు. 'నా చట్టం' లేదా 'మీ చట్టం' వంటివి ఉనికిలో లేవు. అన్ని చోట్లా, సాకార, నిరాకార సృష్టిలో అన్ని సృష్టిలో, అన్ని రంగాలలో ఒకే ఒక నియమం ఉంది. ఖగోళ జీవులకు, మానవులకు మరియు అమానవీయ జీవులకు ఒకే చట్టం ఉంది. ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ ఒకే నిర్ణయాత్మకమైన సూత్రం ద్వారా నియంత్రించబడతారు.

🌻 29. The Law of Dharma 🌻

There are no two laws—God’s law and man’s law; universal law and individual law. No such thing is there. Such thing as ‘my law’ or ‘your law’ does not exist. There is only one law operating everywhere, in all creation, visible or invisible, in all realms of being. The same law is there for the celestials, the humans and the subhuman creatures. Everyone is controlled by a single principle of ordinance.

That is called dharma. It operates as gravitation in the physical level; it operates as love in the psychological level; it operates as chemicals in the chemical level and it operates as integration of thought in our mental level, the level of cognition and thinking. It ultimately operates as the connecting link between the subject and the object, on account of which there is knowledge of anything at all.

🌻 172. When you go deep inside, nothing is all there is. There is no 'I am'. The 'I am' merges in the Absolute. 🌻

After understanding the 'I am', deep, intense, continuous meditation is required on it. It should be in such way that the knowledge 'I am' meditates on itself devoid of all bodily identification.

When this is done, a moment comes when the 'I am' disappears or there is no 'I am' anymore. At this moment the 'I am' merges in the Absolute, quite similar to the ending or disappearance of the dream and you being as you are in the waking state.

🌻 28. The Cosmic Being Manifested Himself as All Things 🌻

The Devas and the Asuras are two tendencies, and not substances. The tendency to unification is the divine principle, and the urge to diversification is the demoniacal principle. The sense organs are incapable; they were defeated by the Asuras, which means to say, that the sense organs cannot work up this unifying activity which is intended for regaining the original position of the deities of the senses.

As mentioned earlier, the mistake that happened during the process of individual creation is a reversal of the subject and the object, placing them in wrong positions. In the Aitareya Upanishad, we have a more clear exposition of this descending process. The Cosmic Being manifested Himself as all things, down to the five elements—earth, water, fire, air and ether—which we regard as objects of sense. The five elements are the objects of our senses, but they were the last evolutes in the process of Divine manifestation.

🌻 171. Waking, dreaming and deep sleep states pertain only to the 'I am', you are above these..🌻

The three states of waking, dreaming and deep sleep that all of us commonly experience are in fact based on the 'I am' or the 'Turiya', the fourth state.

Different ways of similar fourfold classification are found abundantly in ancient literature, these are: the four bodies (gross, subtle, causal and supra-causal) or the four forms of 'Vani' or Speech ('Vaikhari'=spoken word, 'Madhyama'=tangible word in thought, 'Pashyanti'= intangible word in formation and 'Para'=source word).

Whichever way we may describe these states, your true natural Absolute or 'Parabrahman' state is above all these. The 'I am' or 'Turiya' only appears on the Absolute and leads to the other three states and experience of the world.

The Earth is the honey of all, and everyone is the honey of the Earth. The Earth is absorbed into the ‘being’ of everything, and everything is absorbed into the ‘being’ of the Earth. Apart from the Earth and the beings who are correlated in this manner, there is another superior principle present in the Earth and in all beings. That superior principle is the luminous consciousness.

There is an animating being behind this physical entity that you call the Earth, and an animating principle behind what you call all the beings, creatures, individuals, in the world. That which is cosmically animating all creation and that which is individually animating every little creature, that also has to be taken into consideration in the correlationship of the objective and the subjective aspect of creation.

🌻 170. Watching happens to the Absolute with the appearance of 'I am', then does it knows that 'it is'.🌻

The Absolute or 'Parabrahman' is as it is, formless and eternal. It does not require anything and is not dependent on anything. Watching just happens to the Absolute with the spontaneous appearance of 'I am'.

Just as you begin watching a dream as it spontaneously appears, you are not actually involved in any of the events that are dreamt. With the appearance of the 'I am' the Absolute knows that 'it is', although this knowing is of no use to the Absolute nor does it depend on it.

🌻 26. తెలిసినవాడు ఒక్కడే 🌻

సర్వజ్ఞు డికి సంపూర్ణ జ్ఞానం ఉంటుంది. కానీ ఆ సర్వజ్ఞుని గురించిన జ్ఞానం ఎవరికి ఉంటుంది? సర్వజ్ఞుని తెలుసుకోవాలంటే, రెండవ జిజ్ఞాసువు ఉండాలి. అలాగే ఆ రెండవ జిజ్ఞాసువును తెలుసుకోవాలంటే మూడవ, మూడవను తెలుసుకోవాలంటే నాల్గవ జిజ్ఞాసువులు కావాలి. ఇలా వెళ్తూ పోతే మీకు ఏమీ అర్థం కాదు. మీరు ఆ ప్రథమ సర్వజ్ఞు డిని తెలుసుకోలేరు.

జ్ఞానిని ఎలా తెలుసుకుంటారు? మీరు ఇక్కడ చూస్తే జ్ఞాని అన్నాం, జ్ఞానం అన్నాం. అంతే కానీ జ్ఞానాన్ని సంపాదించడం అంటూ ఏమీ లేదు. అలాగే జ్ఞానిని గూర్చి తెలుసుకోవడం అంటూ ఏమీ లేదు. మీరు ఎదిగినప్పుడే ఆఖరి మెట్టు గా జ్ఞానం సంపాదించ గలరు. అంటే మీరు ముక్తి సంపాదించి నపుడు ఆ వస్తువు యొక్క జ్ఞానం మీలో భాగమైపోయింది. ఆ జ్ఞానం జ్ఞానిలో భాగం. అంటే జ్ఞానే ఉంటాడు తప్ప జ్ఞానం కాదు.

🌻 26. The Knower Alone Is 🌻

Everything is known by the knower, but who is to know the knower? If the knower is to be known, there must be a second knower to that knower, and the second knower can be known by a third knower, the third by a fourth, the fourth by a fifth, and so on. You go on scratching your head, you cannot know the knower.

How can the knower be known? We have already designated the knower as the ‘Knower’ and you cannot now call it the ‘known’. Therefore there is no such thing as knowing of Knowing, or knowing of Knower. Knowing of objects only is there before liberation. With liberation, that object has become part of knowing itself; It has become one with the Knower. The Knower alone is; there is no such thing then as ‘knowing’.

🌻 169. The 'I am' is without ego, you can become its watcher only by getting established in it. 🌻

When you are established in the 'Turiya' or the fourth state, there is nothing else except the 'I am'. It is the 'I am' in its utmost purity with no add-ons at all, as a result there is no ego either. Ego comes with the verbal 'I am', when you say 'I am so-and-so living in this world'.

With all this gone there is nothing but the 'I am' only; without words, the ego disappears. By getting established in the 'Turiya' or the fourth state you become its watcher and stand apart from it.

🌻 25. విశ్వ చైతన్యం ఆలోచించబడింది 🌻

విశ్వమనస్సు తన స్వయాన్ని ఒక సృష్టి మీద కేంద్రీకరించడం వల్ల ఆ సృష్టి విశ్వంగా రూపుదిద్దుకుంది. ఆ విధంగా విశ్వం ప్రాణం పోసుకుంది. విశ్వంలోని ప్రతి వస్తువులో కార్యాచరణ, శక్తి, మరియు జీవశక్తి ఉన్నాయి. దీనికి కారణం విశ్వ మనస్సు దేశ కాలాలలో బాహ్యంగా ప్రకటితమైన స్థూల ప్రకృతిలో తనను తాను వ్యక్తపరచుకుంది కాబట్టి. ఉద్వేగంతో కూడిన ప్రతి రకమైన అవగాహనలో ఇది జరుగుతుంది. ఉద్వేగం అనేది ఒక వస్తువు పై కేంద్రీకరించి బడిన చైతన్యం. ఆ చైతన్యకేంద్రం దేని కారణంగా నైనా ప్రభావితం అయితే ఆ స్వయం ఆ వస్తువులోకి కదిలి ఆ వస్తువుకి ఒక నిర్దుష్ట విధానంలో జీవం పోస్తుంది.

అప్పుడు, ఆ ప్రాణ ప్రతిష్ట కారణంగా, అది తనలో ఒక భాగం అవుతుంది; ద్వితీయ స్వయం అవుతుంది. ఒక వస్తువు వైపు స్వయం యొక్క ఉద్వేగ పూరిత కదలిక ద్వారా ఆ వస్తువు విషయం యొక్క ద్వితీయ స్వయంగా మారినట్లు, ఆదిలో కూడా జరిగింది. శరీరం చైతన్యంగా మారిన విధంగానే విశ్వ చైతన్యం బాహ్య ప్రకృతి పట్ల దృష్టి సారించడం వల్ల ఆ బాహ్య ప్రకృతి జీవం సంతరించుకుని విశ్వ ప్రక్రితిగా మారింది.

🌻 25. The Cosmic Consciousness Contemplated 🌻

It is, as it were, the Cosmic Mind contemplated its own Self in the object which is created, namely, the universe. So, the universe assumed a life. There is activity, energy, force and vitality in everything in the universe. That is because of the projection of the Cosmic Mind into this matter, which is the externalised form in space and in time. This happens in every form of perception involving emotion. An emotion is a form of concentration of consciousness on a particular object, and when that concentration is affected, the self moves to the object and enlivens the object in a particular manner.

Then, because of the enlivenment, it becomes a part of itself; the secondary self does it become. As the individual object becomes a secondary self of an individual subject by way of emotional movement of self towards the object, so did it happen originally, also. The Cosmic Consciousness contemplated on the cosmic externality, which we call Prakriti, and thus the universe assumed life, as if it is consciousness itself, just as the body assumes a form of consciousness.

🌻 168. When you are established in the 'I am' there are no thoughts or words, you are everything and everything is you; later even that goes. 🌻

As your 'Sadhana' (practice) matures, your conviction grows stronger and you get firmly established in the 'I am'. That is to say, you are permanently established in the 'Turiya' or the fourth state.

In this state there are no thoughts or words, everywhere there is only the 'I am', you are everything and everything is you. When you abide thus, the stage is set for your transcending the 'I am'. Ultimately that too goes, leaving you as the Absolute or 'Parabrahman'.

విరాట్‌ స్వరూపంగా మారాలనేది ప్రతి ఒక్కరి కోరిక. ఏ కోరికకైనా ఇదే అర్థం. ఒక కప్పు టీ తీసుకున్నా, మన కోరిక ఒక్కటే; మనం సర్వవ్యాపులమవ్వాలని అనుకుంటాము. సర్వంతో ఏకత్వం చెందాలని మన అంతర్గత మనస్సు ఇచ్చే ప్రేరేపణ కోరికగా వ్యక్తమవుతుంది. ఈ రహస్యాన్ని తెలుసుకున్న వాడు సర్వస్వం అవుతాడు, అని ఉపనిషత్తు చెబుతోంది. ఇది జీవులకు ఉపనిషత్తులు ఇచ్చే ఒక గొప్ప జ్ఞానం. ఈ సృష్టి ఎలా జరిగింది, చైతన్యం అన్ని వస్తువులుగా ఎలా మారింది, ఈ విషయాలను తెలుసుకుంటే, కోరిక యొక్క మూల రూపం మీకు అర్థమవుతుంది.

🌻 24. The Desire of Every Individual 🌻

The desire of every individual is to become the Virat. This is the meaning of any desire. Even if we take a cup of tea, our desire is only that; we want to become one with everything. It is a stimulation of the inner psyche towards the unification of oneself with all things. One who knows this mystery can become everything, says the Upanishad, which is a great consolation and a comfort for created beings. If we can understand what all this drama means, how this creation has taken place, how Consciousness has become all things, what desire means actually in its intention.

if this is comprehended properly by us, we can become That, which has been the cause of this manifestation. One who knows it, becomes ‘That’. So is this concluding, solacing message of the Upanishad to everyone: Knowing is Being. If we can know this secret, we can go deep into the secret of self-mastery, so that desire ceases. The assumption by Consciousness that the object is spatially and temporarily cut off from itself is the cause of desire.

🌻 167. The 'I am' is there even without your saying so. Once you understand the 'I am', there is nothing further to understand. 🌻

The knowledge 'I am' is ever there, residing in all at all times. Not a single thing exists which is devoid of the 'I am'. It expresses itself through the five elements and three qualities. As the combination of the elements and qualities is, so the expression of 'I am'. This expression could be good or bad depending on the combination, but the 'I am' itself stands in its purity.

Understanding the 'I am' is the very basis of the teaching, that done, there remains nothing further to be understood. What follows hereafter is the 'Sadhana' (practice), which is the meditation on the 'I am'. Your earnestness, sincerity and intensity of the practice will determine further progress.

🌻 23. జ్ఞానమంతా సంపూర్ణత నుంచే వచ్చింది 🌻

సంపూర్ణత యొక్క జ్ఞానం లేకుండా, చిన్న విషయాలు కూడా అర్థం చేసుకోలేము. జ్ఞానమంతా సర్వోత్కృష్టమైన పరమాత్మలో ఒక పాక్షిక అంశం. పరమాత్మ స్వయంగా జ్ఞానం. ఇక్కడ జ్ఞానం అంటే విషయాల యొక్క సమాచారం కాదు. విషయాల యొక్క అస్తిత్వం. ఇక్కడ అస్తిత్వం, జ్ఞానము ఒకటే.

కాబట్టి, ప్రస్తావించదగిన ఏదైనా జ్ఞానం అనేది సర్వోత్కృష్టమైన జ్ఞానంలో ఒక రేఖ, అంశం మాత్రమే. ప్రపంచంలోని అత్యున్నత మేధావులను కూడా ఆ శాశ్వతమైన జ్ఞానపు కిరణంతో పోల్చలేము. ప్రతిదీ దాని నుండే వస్తుంది.

Without the knowledge of the Absolute, not even the smallest of things can be understood. All knowledge is a partial aspect of the Supreme Absolute, which is Knowledge Itself. It is not knowledge in the sense of an information about things, but the very existence of all things which is inseparable from the knowledge of things.

And so, any knowledge or wisdom that is worth mentioning is a fraction, a spark, a ray, of the Supreme Absolute. Even the highest geniuses of the world cannot be compared with a ray of that eternal profundity of knowledge. Everything comes from that.

🌻 22. The Whole of the Veda is Inside “Om” 🌻

You have heard this great passage of the Bible: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Something like this is what the Upanishad tells us here. The Eternal Wisdom was manifest, with the eternal Word, and with this Word the whole cosmos was created. The Word which is with God, and which is God, is not merely a letter, or a sound that we make through our lips. It is an energy; it is a force; it is a vibration which materialises itself, concretises itself into object-forms.

The Word is the Veda, or Eternal Wisdom which is with God, and it is inseparable from God, and so, it is God Himself. The Cosmic Mind projected itself in the form of this Eternal Word, and manifested this universe. In the Manusmriti, and such other ancient texts, we are also told in a symbolic manner that Prajapati, the Creator, conceived the whole cosmos in the pattern of ‘Om’, or the Pranava. The Pranava, or Omkara, is supposed to be the seed of the whole universe. That is the essence of the Word that is Divine. It is also the Veda contained in a seed form. The whole of the Veda is inside ‘Om’.

🌻 165. Whatever is created is created by the knowledge 'I am', there is no other path, only this conviction. This is it! The name and body arise from the 'I am'. 🌻

First you have to develop the understanding that the knowledge 'I am' is the creator of everything. This includes your name and form, both are products of the 'I am'. You must develop the thorough understanding that, yes, this is it - the 'I am' is the beginning and the end of everything.

Then, once you have the understanding, you have to abide in the 'I am' or constantly meditate on it. This abidance is done to make your understanding a certitude or conviction that is unassailable. This is the only way out; there is no other path.

🌻 21. Though it is the 'Other', it is Also the Self 🌻

It willed, or He willed: “May I have a second Self.” This is the origin of creation. The world, this creation, this universe is the second Self, as it were, of the Supreme Being. This ‘other’ Self, which is this vast creation, is animated by the Supreme Being Himself. It is ‘other’ in the sense that it had not all the characteristics of the Absolute. Yet, it is the Self. Though it is the ‘other’, it is also the Self. It is called the ‘Other Self’, inasmuch as the Selfhood of the Absolute is transparently present in this creation. The Universal Atman is immanent in the whole universe, in all aspects of creation; and yet the universe is an ‘otherness’, as it were, of God, an object of God.

It is as if the Universal ‘I’ is envisaging a universal object, including all that is visible or sensible—space, time and causal relation. A single Subject encountering a single Object is the state which is described in this passage, a Cosmic Consciousness becoming aware of a Cosmic Object in a peculiar manner, not in the way in which the ordinary individual is aware of an object outside. The way in which God is conscious of the universe, is different from the way in which an ordinary jiva, or individual, is conscious of an object.

🌻 20. Shariri-Sharira Bhava 🌻

The object, in an ordinary perception, is segregated from the subject by the differentiating medium of space and of time, so that there is no vital connection between the object that is perceived and the subject that perceives. But there is a living connectedness between the Cosmic Object and the Cosmic Subject. This connection is sometimes described as one of body and soul. We know that there is a connection between the soul and the body. This relation between the soul and the body is different from the relation between an individual subject encountering an outside object. The soul and the body cannot be separated from each other. They are organically one.

This relation is called shariri-sharira-bhava, the relation between consciousness and its embodiment. Thus, we can say that the Cosmic Awareness of the universe, in the case of God-Consciousness, is one of inseparable relation, like the relation of the soul and the body. When we are aware of our bodies, we are not only becoming aware of an object situated in space and time. We can say that this body is an object because it can be sensed, it can be seen, and it has all the characters of any object in the world; but, at the same time, it is an object which clings to us vitally and organically.

🌻 164. That 'Brahman' or 'I am' state alone embraces everything and is all the manifestation. You have to forget everything and merge with 'Brahman'. 🌻

Whatever you see or feel has the 'I am' as its basis, the 'I am' and 'Brahman' are the same. All is the creation of the 'I am' or 'Brahman' state, this you can also say from your own experience.

Prior to the arrival of the 'I am', or in the deep sleep state, did you know of your existence or the world and the rest? It was only with the rising of the 'I am' that space, which engulfs everything, came.

As a part of the 'Sadhana' (practice) you have to forget everything - that is, all externalities and become one with the 'Brahman'.

మీరు ఇష్టపడేది ఏమిటంటే మీకు ఒక వస్తువు స్వాధీనం అయినపుడు మీరు అనుభూతి చెందే ఒక సంపూర్ణత. మీరు ఈ విషయాన్ని తప్పనిసరిగా గుర్తించాలి. మీరు ఇష్టపడేది వస్తువు మీదైనపుడు ఆ స్వాధీనత అనే ఊహ మాత్రమే. కానీ ఆ స్థితిని ఎప్పటికీ చేరుకోలేము, దాని కారణంగా ఎంతో ఇప్పటికే పేర్కొన్నాము. కాబట్టి, ఈ ప్రపంచంలో ఏదీ ప్రియమైనది కాదు.

🌻 19. What is Dear is the Condition of Completeness 🌻

What you love is a completeness of being which is reflected in the condition felt to exist between yourself and the object concerned. You must mark this point. What you love is only the condition that you imagine to be present in the state of the possession of the object. But that state can never be reached, for the reason already mentioned. So, nothing is dear in this world.

What is dear is the condition which you intend to create, or project in your own being by an imagined contact with the object. So, not one person is dear in this world, but what is dear is that condition which is imagined to be present after the possession of that object or that relationship.

When the Guru is faced by a sincere seeker he is very keen on imparting his knowledge to him, and this itself is the initiation. His teaching is very simple. He awakens you to the long lost 'I am' or the 'Brahman', he calls it the planting of the 'Brahma seed' in you.

It is just like on seeing or coming across something desirable - you want it desperately, the seeds of its acquisition are sown. Because once the 'Brahma seed' is sown in you, appropriate conditions prevailing, you will go to any lengths to bring it to fruition.

🌻 18. మీరు అనుభూతి చెందే ప్రేమ పరిపూర్ణత కోసం 🌻

ఒక వస్తువు పట్ల మీకు కలిగే ప్రేమ వాస్తవానికి పరిపూర్ణత పట్ల మీకు కలిగే ప్రేమ. ఇది నిజంగా వస్తువు పట్ల ప్రేమ కాదు. మీరు ఒక నిర్దిష్ట వస్తువును మీకు తృప్తిని ఇచ్చే విషయంగా అంటిపెట్టుకుని కూడా, మీరు విషయాన్ని పూర్తిగా తప్పుగా అర్థం చేసుకున్నారు. మనస్సు ఒక వస్తువును కోరుకోదు; అది సంపూర్ణతను కోరుకుంటుంది.

🌻 18. The Love that You Feel is for Completeness 🌻

The love that you feel in respect of an object is in fact the love that you feel towards that which is called perfection and completeness. It is not really a love for the object. You have thoroughly misunderstood the whole point, even when you are clinging to a particular object as if it is the source of satisfaction. The mind does not want an object; it wants completeness of being.

That is what it is searching for. Thus, when there is a promise of the fulfilment that it seeks, through the perception of an object that appears to be its counterpart, there is a sudden feeling that fullness is going to come, and there is a satisfaction even on the perception of that object; and there is an apparent satisfaction, just by the imagined possession of it together with the yearning for actual possession.

🌻 162. The Absolute doesn't know that 'It is'. Only when the knowledge 'I am' spontaneously appeared did it know 'It is'. 🌻

There is no question of there being any experience in the Absolute or the 'Parabrahman'. All experiences demand the necessity of duality in the form of the experiencer (subject) and the experienced (object).

The Absolute is a non-dual state, so who is to experience what? Moreover, the Absolute, does not require any experience or the need to know that 'it is'. By the spontaneous appearance of the knowledge 'I am' it came to know that 'it is', yet it doesn't require the 'I am' at all, for it is complete in itself, devoid of any wants.

🌻 17. విశ్వం అనే 'నేను' 🌻

మనం వేదాంతంలో పిలిచే, విశ్వమనస్సు లేదా హిరణ్యగర్భం అనేది విశ్వ స్వీయ అస్తిత్వం. ఇది విశ్వం యొక్క స్వీయచైతన్యం. విశ్వం యొక్క పరిపూర్ణ, స్వచ్ఛమైన అస్తిత్వం. అన్ని విధాలైన వైవిధ్యాలు ఇక్కడ నుంచే పుడతాయి. ఒక రకంగా చెప్పాలంటే, మనం ఈ విశ్వ మనస్సులో భాగాలు అని చెప్పవచ్చు, కానీ అది పూర్తిగా నిజం కాదు. నేను ఇంతకు ముందు చెప్పినట్లుగా మనల్ని మనం పరమాత్మలో భాగాలుగా పరిగణించలేము. మనం మన కళ్లతో చూసే ఏదీ పరమాత్మకు నిజమైన ప్రాతినిధ్యంగా పరిగణించబడదు. కాబట్టి, మనం హిరణ్యగర్భంలో కూడా భాగాలు కాదని అర్థం చేసుకోవాలి. మనం దానికంటే చాలా తక్కువ.

🌻 17. The Cosmic “I-am” 🌻

The Cosmic Mind, Hiranyagarbha, as we call it in the Vedanta, is the Cosmic “I-Am”. It is Self-Consciousness, Pure Universality. And, here is the seed of all diversity. In a sense, we may say that we are parts of this Cosmic Mind, but not, indeed, correctly. As I pointed out, we cannot regard ourselves as parts of the Absolute. Nothing that we see with our eyes can be regarded as a real representation of the Absolute. Thus, we have to understand that we are not parts, even of the Hiranyagarbha. We are much less than that.

We are far down below the condition of Hiranyagarbha and Virat, for reasons we shall see shortly. For the time being, it is enough if we understand the actual meaning of this passage. There was a destruction, a Mrityu, a complete abolition of Reality, which is what the Samkhya calls Prakriti, and the Vedantins call Maya, Mula-Prakriti, etc., the Potential Being, the Matrix of the universe. That becomes the seed for the manifestation of the Cosmic Mind, known as Mahat and Cosmic Ahamkara. The Vedanta calls them Hiranyagarbha and Virat.

🌻 161. The 'I am' is the divinity in you and cause of the sacred repetition ('Japa') in your breath of 'So Hum' (I am 'That'). 🌻

The 'I am' is the divinity or God in you and makes its presence felt through the sacred repetition or 'Japa' continuously going on in you in the form of breath.

The ancient ones carefully observed the breath and found two subtle sounds in it at every inhalation and exhalation. When you inhale deeply and slowly you can hear 'Soooo' and when you exhale, again slowly you can hear 'Huuum'. These sounds are called 'So Hum', which in Sanskrit means 'I am That'.

Many practitioners do this meditation of focusing their attention on the breath and observing the sound 'So Hum', which is regarded as a 'mantra' (condensed sacred words with a deep meaning)

🌻 16. సంపూర్ణమైనది పరిమాణం లేదా గుణం కాదు 🌻

విశ్వ చైతన్యం, పరమాత్మ చైతన్యం ఒకటి కాదు. ఆ రెండూ ఒకటి కాదు అనే విష‌యం ఇక్క‌డ ప్ర‌స్తావించ‌బ‌డింది. విశ్వం యొక్క అస్తిత్వాన్ని చైతన్యంలో అంగీకరించిన తర్వాత, దాని కారణంగా వచ్చే మిగతావన్నీ కూడా అంగీకరించబడతాయి. రెండూ రెండు నాలుగైతే, నాలుగు నాలుగు ఎనిమిది అవుతాయి. అలా గణితం ప్రకారం తర్వాత ఏమి వస్తుందో మనం అంచనా వేయగలము. కానీ, ప్రాథమికంగా, రెండు రెండు నాలుగు అవ్వాలి. దానిని మనం అంగీకరించాలి. అది నిజం కాకపోతే, దాని నుండి వచ్చే ఏ గుణకారం కూడా నిజం కాదు.

పరమాత్మ చైతన్యం మరియు విశ్వం-చైతన్యం మధ్య వ్యత్యాసం ఉంది. ఆ వ్యత్యాసమే పరమాత్మకు, సృష్టి పూర్వ స్థితికి మధ్య ఉన్న ఈ రేఖకు కారణం. పరమాత్మను అర్థం చేసుకోవడం మానవ మనస్సుకు కష్టం. మన ఊహలు ఏమైనప్పటికీ, మనం దానిని ఊహించలేము, ఎందుకంటే ప్రతి భావన పరిమాణాత్మకమైనది మరియు గుణాత్మకమైనది. పరమాత్మ పరిమాణం కాదు, గుణం కాదు. అందువల్ల పరమాత్మ గురించి ఆలోచించడం సాధ్యం కాదు.

🌻 16. The Absolute is Neither a Quantity nor a Quality 🌻

The consciousness of the existence of the universe is different from the consciousness of the Absolute. That the two are not identical is a point that is made out here. Once the existence of the universe is accepted in consciousness, everything else that follows from it can also be accepted. If two and two make four, four and four make eight, and so on, arithmetically, we can draw conclusions. But two and two must, first of all, make four. We must accept that. If that is not true, then any multiplication therefrom also is not true.

There is a distinction between Absolute-Consciousness and universe-consciousness. That distinction is the cause behind this line drawn here between Pure Being that is the Absolute, and the condition precedent to creation. It is difficult for the human mind to understand what the Absolute is. Whatever be our stretch of imagination, we cannot conceive it, because every conception is quantitative and qualitative. The Absolute is neither a quantity nor a quality, and therefore no thought of it is possible.

🌻 160. The 'I am' in you came from the 'I am' in your parents, but only then could they be called parents! 🌻

The fact that the 'I am' came from the 'I am' in your parents, or that your parents created you is the usual, conventional understanding. But just think of it the other way around, your parents could be called 'parents' only after your arrival, not before that!

Before that they were just a couple, prospective parents, but not parents yet, until your arrival. Looking at it in this manner, in a way, you have created the 'parents'. So who created whom? Yet we talk of all this being the reality! Is it?

🌻 15. అతీంద్రియ జీవి సంపూర్ణమైనది.🌻

సాధారణ పరిభాషలో విశ్వమనస్సుగా అని పిలువబడే ఉనికి, ఇక్కడ ఒక పరిణామక్రమంలో ఎదిగిన ఉనికిగా పరిగణించబడుతుంది తప్ప సత్యం యొక్క అస్తిత్వంగా కాదు. బ్రహ్మం అనేది సంపూర్ణమైనది. మనస్సు యొక్క ఒక ఆలోచన కాదు. ఇది కారణ స్థితి కూడా కాదు. కారణ స్థితి కూడా నిరాకార పరబ్రహ్మానికి దిగువన భావించబడుతుంది. మనం ఎప్పుడూ ప్రపంచంతో పరబ్రహ్మాన్ని సరితూల్చలేము. ఉపనిషత్తుల్లో చెప్పబడిన పరబ్రహ్మం, లేదా తత్వశాస్త్రంలో చెప్పబడిన అంతిమ సత్యాన్ని మనం సృష్టితో సమానం అని అనుకోలేము. మనం సృష్టితో భగవంతుని అనుబంధించవలసి వచ్చినప్పుడు, దానికి పూర్తిగా కొత్త పదం ఉంటుంది.

🌻 15. The Absolute is Transcendent Being 🌻

The mind of the cosmos, which is called the Cosmic Mind in usual parlance, is regarded here as an evolute, and not the original Being. The Absolute is Transcendent Being, and not a mind thinking. It is not even a causal state. Even the causal state is supposed to be posterior to the Absolute. We never associate the Absolute with the world. The Brahman of the Upanishad, or the Absolute of philosophy, is the assertion of Being which is unrelated to creation. And, when we have to associate God with creation, we have a new word altogether for it.

Ishvara is the word we use in the language of the Vedanta. Such words do not occur in the Upanishads. They are all to be found in the later Vedanta, but they are assumed here. In the Samkhya and the Vedanta cosmological descriptions, we have certain grades mentioned of the coming out of the effect from the cause. Everything was hidden, though not expressed. Everything was in a universal causal state. That is called Prakriti in the Samkhya language.

🌻 159. The 'I am' is the awareness before thoughts, it cannot be put into words; you have to 'just be'. 🌻

When the knowledge 'I am' dawned on you, you knew no words or language. It was an awareness without or before thoughts. When we are using words for communication,

it should be quite obvious that they cannot be used to describe the wordless state! It can be hinted at, or can be pointed out, but its real understanding will only come by being it, so do away with words and 'just be', then see what happens.

సృష్టిలో, కొత్త వస్తువు ఏదీ సృష్టించబడదు, ఎందుకంటే శూన్యం నుండి ఏమీ రాదు. ఒక కొత్త వస్తువు సృష్టించబడాలంటే, అది శూన్యం నుండి వచ్చి ఉండాలి. ‘శూన్యం’ ‘సృష్టి’ని ఎలా తయారు చేస్తుంది? ఇది అశాస్త్రీయం. ప్రభావం ఏదో ఒక కారణ స్థితిలో ఉండి ఉండాలి. ఈ కారణం విశ్వంపదార్ధం. ఇప్పుడు, అసలు కారణ స్థితికి భిన్నంగా సృష్టించబడిన విశ్వం యొక్క విలక్షణమైన గుర్తు ఏమిటి? ఏ విధంగా ప్రభావం కారణం నుండి వేరు చేయబడుతుంది?

🌻 14. Nothing Can Come from Nothing 🌻

In creation, a new thing is not created, because nothing can come from nothing. If a new thing is to be created, it must have been produced out of nothing. How can ‘nothing’ produce ‘something’? This is illogical. The effect must have existed in some causal state. This causal state is the substance of the universe. Now, what is actually the distinctive mark of the universe that is created, as different from the original causal condition? In what way does the effect get differentiated from the cause?

If everything that is in the effect is in the cause, what is the distinctive feature, what is the distinguishing mark, which separates the effect from the cause? If the effect is entirely different from the cause, we cannot posit a cause at all, because the cause is non-existent. If the cause is non-existent, the effect also would be non-existent. So, the cause must have contained the effect in a primordial state; and, therefore, nothing can be visualised in the effect which could not have been in the cause.

🌻 158. Be one with the Self, the 'I am'. If necessary discard the words 'I am', even without them you know 'you are'. 🌻

You have to totally identify yourself with the indwelling knowledge 'I am' in you. This knowledge 'I am', or sense of 'presence' has spontaneously dawned on you; it came without your asking or willing it to be so.

When it came it was wordless, just a feeling of 'being', and as long as it prevailed words were not required and life went on. It was only when your conditioning began that words and language intruded and soon took over.

This takeover has been so complete that you cannot conceive of a life without words, which now exist as concepts. So, in order to make your meditation effective, you are asked to discard the words 'I am', because even without them 'you are'.

🌻 13. వస్తువులను కలిగి ఉండాలనే కోరిక 🌻

ఒక నిర్దిష్ట వస్తువుని కోసం మనస్సు వాంచించడం అంటే ఆ వస్తువు యొక్క ఉనికితో ఐక్యం కావాలనే బలమైన కోరిక. కాబట్టి, సొంతం చేసుకోవాలనే ఆలోచన చాలా బలమైనది. ఇది వాస్తవానికి వస్తువుతో ఐక్యం కావాలనే కోరిక, తద్వారా మీరు కేవలం బాహ్యంగా కాక, మానసికంగా కూడా సంపూర్ణులౌతారు.

అయితే ఇది సాధ్యం కాదు, ఎందుకంటే మీరు ఏ వస్తువు యొక్క ఉనికిలోకి ప్రవేశించలేరు. అందువల్ల, కోరిక నెరవేరిన తర్వాత కూడా ఎలాంటి సంతృప్తి ఉండదు. ఏ కోరిక అయినా శాశ్వతంగా నెరవేరదు ఎందుకంటే మీరు ఏ ప్రయత్నం చేసినా, ఆ వస్తువు యొక్క ఉనికిలోకి ప్రవేశించడం మీకు సాధ్యం కాదు.

🌻 13. The Desire to Possess Objects 🌻

The desire of the mind for a particular desirable object is a desire to get united with that object in its being. So, the idea of possession is something very strong, indeed. It is actually a desire to get united with the object, so that you become physically, psychologically whole in being, and not merely in an external relation.

This condition is however not possible, as you cannot enter into the being of any object. Therefore, there is not such satisfaction even after the fulfilment of a desire. No desire can be fulfilled eternally, whatever be the effort that you put forth, because it is not possible for you to enter into the being of that object.

🌻 157. Once you reach the state of 'I am' and are aware of that only, you will have transcended all the tendencies ('Vasanas'). 🌻

'Vasanas', tendencies or desires have a very strong pull and act as very potent hindrances in the 'Sadhana' (practice). The obvious desires are easy to identify but the subtle ones enter through the back door or are always stubbornly there in the background.

The desire 'to be' is at the very root and often missed, it has developed gradually over the years as the verbal 'I am' with the 'I am so-and-so'. But, if you recollect and are observant enough, it will be clear that when the pure non-verbal 'I am', or sense of 'presence', arrived it had no traces of desire in it, although it was dormant.

This pure 'I am' when desire was unexpressed is presently your goal. As you abide in it with full understanding a stage will come when you are aware of the 'I am' only. It is only on reaching this stage you will have transcended all desires and they won't trouble you anymore.

ధ్యానం యొక్క మొత్తం శాస్త్రం ఆలోచనలో లోపాలను సరిదిద్దడం తప్ప మరొకటి కాదు. ఈ పద్ధతుల వివరాలను మనము మరింత ముందుకు సాగేటప్పుడు పరిశీలిద్దాము. కాబట్టి, విషయానికి వస్తే, వ్యక్తి యొక్క దుఃఖాన్ని తొలగించే ఉద్దేశ్యంతో వ్యక్తిగత జీవుడు మరియు విశ్వపదార్ధం మధ్య ఉన్న ఈ వేర్పాటు వాదాన్ని తొలగించాలి. ధ్యానం అనేది వ్యక్తిని దుఃఖం నుంచి బయటకు తీసుకు రాగల సాధనం. ఈ దుఃఖం తన వ్యక్తిగత అస్తిత్వం లోనుంచి ప్రపంచాన్ని వేరు చేయడం వల్ల వచ్చింది.

ఈ ప్రయోజనం కోసం, ధ్యానం లోకి సాధకుడు ప్రవేశిస్తాడు. ఇక్కడ చెప్పబడిన విషయం త్యాగ సంబంధమైనది. కాబట్టి ఇక్కడ ఆ ఉద్దేశానికి కర్మ సంబంధంగా అశ్వమేధ యాగం చెప్పబడింది. అశ్వమేధ యాగంలో భౌతికంగా ఒక యాగాశ్వం ఉన్నపటికీ, మానసిక తలంలో ఆ అశ్వం మన విశ్వంలో ఏ జీవి అయినా కావచ్చు.

🌻 12. The Entire Psychology of Meditation 🌻

The entire psychology of meditation is nothing but a setting right of errors in thought; and the details of these methods we shall be considering as we proceed further. So, to come to the point, this distinction between the individual unit and the Universal Substance is to be abolished for the purpose of the removal of the sorrow of the individual. Meditation is the technique of the removal of sorrow in the sense that sorrow is caused by the segregation of the individual from the world outside.

For this purpose, one enters into the technique of meditation. Now, here, the context being sacrifice, we are given a method which is ritualistic in its nature, and thus the ritualistic horse of the Asvamedha Sacrifice becomes an object of contemplation, literally, liturgically as an animal in the sacrifice, but psychologically and spiritually as an element like any other element in creation as a whole.
